Casual Support Workers:

We have positions as Casual Support Workers.  These are employees who are called in to work to replace full-time or part-time employees who are unable to work.  These positions are on an elect-to-work basis where work is not regularly scheduled and are not committed to any hours of work.


Upon hire, you can apply for internal postings in order to secure permanent part-time or full-time hours.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

Post secondary education relevant to the job: certificate : PSW, HCA etc.. or diploma: DSW, SSW, C&YW etc… plus less than 1 year experience with persons with a developmental disability.

Bilingual (French/English) Written and oral – intermediate level.

Valid First Aid, C.P.R.

C.P.I. training

Valid Class G Driver’s License and vehicle required.


KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Knowledge of and adherence to values or person centered planning and thinking based on meeting outcomes for people.

Must be flexible, creative and able to work independently within predetermined guidelines.

Must have knowledge of community resources.


 

Support Worker:


POSITION SUMMARY & REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

As part of a work team, reporting to a Manager provide supports to individuals with a developmental disability.


The duties of the position consist primarily of ensuring that the individuals receive services based on their own self-identified outcomes and person centered plan.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

Bilingual (French/English – Oral & written – advanced level)

Valid First Aid, CPR

Valid Class G Driver’s License and vehicle required

CPI training

Knowledge of and adherence to values or person centered planning and thinking based on meeting outcomes for people.

Must be flexible, creative and able to direct teams within predetermined guidelines.

    Must be able to work independently; demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and trust.

Must have knowledge of community resources.

Must demonstrate the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.

Ability to use computer (Windows, Microsoft Word)
