Job Title: Casual Support Worker
Position Summary:
As part of a work team, provide supports to individuals with a developmental disability. The duties of the position consist primarily of ensuring that the individuals receive services based on their Individual Support Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a comprehensive range of supports and services designed to empower the person to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Provide supports with all aspects of daily living, personal care and medications dispensing.
- Provide opportunities to maintain relationships with family and friends, exercise their rights and make informed choices.
- Assist people to make community connections, engage in activities such as work, sports, recreation and leisure.
- Promote public awareness of the values of social inclusion.
- Advocate on behalf of the person so they may live in safety and be treated with dignity and respect.
- Qualifications:
Post Secondary Education – relevant to the job: - Certificate: PSW, HCA, etc. or Diploma: DSW, SSW, C&YW, etc.
- Minimum 6 months experience working with individuals with a developmental disability.
- Bilingual (French/English) Written and oral – intermediate level.
- Valid First Aid, C.P.R. and N.C.I. training.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License and vehicle required.
